VCDM 475-555 Weekly Production Report #9

This week was the eighth week of my VCDM 475 course that will ultimately guide me in making my Senior Thesis to showcase next semester.   Most of my time this week I spent on putting together my final Digital Portfolio for Guy Vs. Grade. Mostly gathering the material I had already done, completing my shot list and getting my location release form signed.  I plan on working on making a casting call sheet so I can hopefully get some cast members before the second week of November so I can start filming for the rest of the month.

VCDM 475-555 Weekly Production Report #8

This week was the eighth week of my VCDM 475 course that will ultimately guide me in making my Senior Thesis to showcase next semester.   This week we were mostly working on completing our Midterm Exam. I managed to finish wrapping up by storyboards and my production design for "Guy Vs. Grades" so that I could apply that to my Pitch Deck for the Midterm. I presented my Pitch Deck on Thursday for the Midterm and was relived to have it get good reception. Really made me more confident in the concept of my short and the story I'm telling in it. I also completed a 2nd Draft of my script for the film to fix any possible grammatical errors.  Still have to work on making the storyboards into an animatic and putting together my digital production binder.

VCDM 475-555 Weekly Production Report #7

This week was the seventh week of my VCDM 475 course that will ultimately guide me in making my Senior Thesis to showcase next semester.   This week we are mostly working on our production design as well as the storyboards for our films. Both have been quite a daunting task for me. The storyboards more so than the production design for me.  Since my script is very reliant on physicality in favor of dialogue all of the storyboards that I have done, or more so my process specifically, have been very intricate. I have basically approached it as more so of an animatic rather than a storyboard. I'll have several boards deliver a specific action and it will come out as more of an animation. Finding a balance so that I'm not putting TOO many boards into it has been a challenge but regardless I do like how they have come out. Even if they are roughs.

VCDM 475-555 Weekly Production Report #6

This week was the sixth week of my VCDM 475 course that will ultimately guide me in making my Senior Thesis to showcase next semester.   This week we discussed working on our Character Analysis and Character Descriptions for our Senior Thesis to help nail down who are characters are since the scripts and have already been written. It allowed me to really envision the characters more and what I want them to look like in my film. We plan on working on our storyboards and backgrounds next week.
